I had the great honor and opportunity to present this weekend at the Communities of Color Coalition’s 11th Annual North Puget Sound Conference on Race. I loved meeting some amazing community members and hearing the Keynote speakers Dr. Estell Williams and Kelsey Blackwell speak about their journeys and how they find healing and joy in their own spaces. And to close out the day, being able to absorb Christian Paige’s spoken work pieces and feel the love vibrate through the room.
I was able to share with the participants all about the Parasympathetic Nervous System, how to identify stress and using breath and movement to help aid recovery. It was so deeply rewarding to be able to speak and share my own experiences with others and give them some guidance. To be able to connect with community was a moment I’ll always hold close to my heart.
As promised to my workshop attendees, here is the workshop presentation slides to refer back to. Please always feel free to reach out with any addiitonal questions, I am more than happy to help!
And for a little refresher, here are two movements you can use any time to take a moment to set intention, focus breathing and create cues for the parasympathetic system to “reboot” into recovery.
