I really haven’t done a review since 2019? Well, for good reason. This year seems like a reasonable time to bring it back. Not quite done surviving yet, but at least I have a better sense of myself.
2022: In Review
Challenge Accepted:
Took a break from competitive kettlebell lifting, had zero regrets
Invested in an e-bike! Commuted way more by it, hit my goal of 1,000 miles
Started teaching online workshops for Kettlebell Sport Levels 1 and 2 and with Fitness 4 All Bodies
Bought a keyboard and started practice reading music again
Led an in-person workshop with my good friend Dominique for the first time at Refuge Outdoor Festival
The Ups
Made deeper connections with people who have been showing up, like, really showing up
Slowly practiced how to communicate better and uphold boundaries
Traveled by plane for the first time since 2019 to see family

Got COVID for the first time, oof
Had deep feelings around experiencing racism directly and indirectly

Being told my voice is important, but not being heard
Waiting around for my trauma to heal itself magically

Focus on things that are small and manageable, one at a time
Prioritize speaking where my voice is actually heard
Proactively face my fears and stop playing the role of victim, move my own feet towards healing
